Overview:
The Event Manager shall serve The Navigators and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose: - To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost. - -The Event Manager supports the director of special events and projects with coordinating events from conception through to completion. This position is responsible for a variety of tasks that will include creative, technical, and logistical elements for events in The Navigators. -

Responsibilities:
Event Coordination: 70%Ensure that all aspects of events follow their goals, objectives, and desired outcomes Work with individuals to develop and monitor timelines and deadlines related to all aspects of events, ensuring the information is communicated with staff, volunteers, contractors and other constituentsProvide a high level of customer service including responding in a friendly, timely manner, using professional communication and problem resolution skillsAct as venue liaison: Coordinate logistical details of events including but not limited to catering, management of room block, tax exemption, meeting space, audio/visual productionManage event details in project management software including but not limited to online registration, communication and marketing, audio/visual production, event surveys and transportationProvide leadership, professional expertise, ideas and constructive feedback to Navigator staff who coordinate Mission or Network national eventsConsult and collaborate with National Leadership Team executive assistants, designated conference directors, and other staff with coordinating smaller eventsConsult Field and HQ staff on venue selections and contractingOversee database and registration process, including on?site registrations, to assure accurate registration data, name badges, fee collection, counts for specific events, special dietary needs, etc.Create and update event master schedule that include detailed scheduling, meal counts, meeting location for each session, speakers, meal choice, and any other pertinent information to the eventAs needed, Work with the event program teams to help develop an event program including speakers, topics, and timing Communicate with speakers regarding their needs related to their involvement with the event (e.g., audio/visual, travel, reimbursement, handouts, bios, etc.)Create and update "run of show" documents for each event detailing the minute-by-minute schedule of logistics, transitions, and speaker needs pertaining to the event programConsult and coordinate virtual and/or hybrid eventsAttend events held throughout the country and provide on?site supportTreat people with respect, courtesy, and humility. - Dress code shall be business casual at a minimum, unless event dictates otherwise, and approved by supervisor -Assist Director of Special Events and Projects: 25%Research, evaluate, and recommend cities and venues for eventsCreate and submit Request for Proposals (RFPs) to gather venue bids for eventsEnsure contract modifications are made and contract is ready to be signed based on the appropriate signing matrix guidelineParticipate in site visits as neededAsist in negotiating contracts, and arrange services with venues, vendors, production, transportation, design, printing, and the like -Personal & Professional Development: 4%Pursue intimacy with Jesus in all things for the glory of God Participate in the annual Plan and Progress review process with direct supervisor including creating annual goals and developmental objectivesAttend professional development trainings as requested by supervisor -Other: 1%Other job-related projects as assigned by the director of special events and projects

Qualifications:
Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators.Minimum of three year's work experience directly working in conference planning or special eventsStrong project management skills and ability to balance multiple priorities Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and integrity requiredProficiency in attention to detail with ability to organize, prioritize and effectively contribute within a team settingMicrosoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Google Docs and Google Sheets experience requiredDemonstrated excellence with verbal and written communication skills Ability to travelAvailability to work evenings and weekends when neededExperience with online registration and project management systems is helpfulCompensation Range: $55,900 to $65,500/year -Benefits: High-Deductible Health Plan: Medical, Dental, Vision, HSA, FSA, Life Insurance, Disability, EAP, 401a and 403b retirement options.
