position will be based in Colorado Springs, CO location and will be
based in our Colorado Springs airport facility.This Project Manager
position reports to the Manager of Systems Engineering,
Integration, and Test (SEIT) for Colorado Springs. The department
provides systems engineering, integration, and test support to
programs within the Payload and Ground Systems Division. This is a
dual-hat position responsible for both personnel management (- 20%
of time) for a multi-disciplined team of approximately 12 engineers
and Staffing and Early Career Talent responsibilities (-80% of
time).What you'll get to do:
- Provide functional oversight for a team of engineers of varied
disciplines, to include staffing and workload forecasting; employee
inclusion, engagement, mentoring and career development;
identification and training of employee skills required to
successfully execute on programs; and execution of employee
performance management processes.
- Recruiting, sourcing, onboarding, performance management and
contract maintenance for contractors working in the business area
as required.
- Issue identification/reporting as well as status reporting up
the Engineering and program chains.
- Collaborate with Engineering Leadership and Business Unit to
ensure program consistency and continuity; to ensure early career
employees stay on track for assignments and rotations; and to
ensure development and growth needs are met
- Provide coaching and feedback, as needed, to employees, with an
emphasis on career exploration and professional development
- Deliver and maintain Early Career onboarding, programming and
communications
- Collaborate closely with peers and stakeholders at all levels
(including Human Resources and functional and technical leadership)
to ensure a consistent, world-class Early Career experience**The
successful candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership
skills to achieve sustainable top performance. They will have a
track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is
able to develop and maintain good working relationships with
internal and external stakeholders. This candidate will demonstrate
a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to
innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business.
Demonstrated abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with
high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are a
must.Basic Qualifications:
- Active DoD Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of progressively responsible
experience or 3+ years' experience with Master's degree, 0 years
with PhD.
- Experience working in systems engineering, integration, and
test environments
- Proven demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work
effectively in a team environment
- Experience in multiple aspects of the systems engineering
process, from requirements analysis through verification
testingPreferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant technical or management
specialty
- Current or ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance
- Solid technical foundation in system engineering
- Experience with large scale, complex, hardware and software
systems
- Knowledge of/experience with Model Based Engineering (MBE) and
Agile development
- Knowledge of/experience with cyber security requirements and
processes
- Experience in activities related to analysis, modeling and
simulation
- Experience leading in multi-contractor team environments Salary
Range: $89,800 USD - $134,800 USD Employees may be eligible for a
discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are
designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow
employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President
or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In
addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including
