FLSA: Exempt
Level/Salary Range: $45,920 - $54,000 per year
Position Type: Full Time

The Communications and Social media Manager is a strategic and creative leader who utilizes relationships, partnerships and a variety of communication mediums to position Starpoint as a leader in the communities we serve. The Communications and Social Media Manager communicates the purposes and philosophy of the organization to the community-at-large and, specifically, to potential clients, employees, volunteers and donors by making effective use of a variety of approaches.

-- Work directly with the Chief Executive Officer and leadership team to design and execute written and visual communication materials.
-- Ensure all written and visual communication pieces adhere to brand guidelines and mission.
-- Oversee in-house production and distribution of printed materials such as letters, postcards, handouts, etc.
-- Manage selected internal projects and act as a team liaison to facilitate Public Relation needs across all Starpoint departments.
-- Design, create and edit frequent digital content including, but not limited to, Starpoint website, YouTube, blog, emails, and social media sites (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok).
-- Drives community and customer engagement to heighten our positive reputation within the community.
-- Must be creative and social media savvy. You will be responsible for creating digital ads, print ads, and digital communication materials.
-- Serve as the point person for partnering with local community-based organizations to create a pipeline of speaking engagements and presentations throughout the communities we serve for the purpose of promoting our mission relations heightening frequently recruiting staff, clients, and families, and heightening potential funder awareness of our organization.
-- Must be willing to travel to Salida on a frequent basis

-- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
-- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build and nurture effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
-- Experience writing persuasive content for articles, op-eds, press releases, social media, etc.
-- Experience building and integrating a brand across Starpoint - messaging, graphics, collateral, advertising, website, and social media.
-- Excellent analytical skills and aptitude for mining data to inform strategy and social media content.
-- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.
-- Bachelor's degree in Communications/Marketing or Public Relations or other related field preferred or a minimum of 3-5 years of marketing and public relations related experience.
-- Proven success with management of social medial platforms
-- Experience building community relationships with and placing stories with various media outlets.
-- Fundraising and event planning experience a plus.
