From scheduling to payments, eyewear selection to orthodontics, we make it fun, easy and affordable for children to thrive.Company MissionTo be the leading provider of high-quality and compassionate dental, vision and orthodontic services to children in underserved communities.Outcome of the RoleThe role of the Chief Compliance Officer is to act as the primary stakeholder for all compliance related activities, as well as develop, enhance, and implement internal compliance procedures. Upholding moral principles and trustworthy actions.* Maintain operational process to support internal compliance objectives.* Ensure timely implementation of all state and federal legislation and regulations applicable to assigned business areas.* Assist with communicating Hero's business conduct, integrity and compliance messages.* Demonstrates high integrity in all activities; does not cut corners to achieve goals.* Work independently to achieve the goals of the department while adhering to company policiesMission Driven - Focused on delivering high quality, compassionate healthcare through your daily activities in efforts to better the community we service.* Develop and maintain close working relationships across the company to ensure effective communication and follow up on audits.* Monitor ongoing compliance within the policies and procedures.* Enable high decisions and value-creation by identifying process improvements and best practices.* Promote compliance reviews and risk assessments.* Strives to meet or exceed the expectations of both internal and external stakeholders.Patient First - Evaluating our level of service and quality to the people we serve, putting what's best for our patients above all else.* Work closely with leadership team to drive compliance as a core competency and integrate compliance in the business plans, scorecards, metrics and processes.* Develop a detailed understanding of the regulatory framework as it applies to the diverse healthcare industry and identify trends and patterns in audit findings.* Make recommendations as needed to pro-actively correct items crossing multiple audits and business lines* Oversee and implement certain aspects of the HIPAA compliance program.* Always putting the patient first in every decision.Accountability - Taking responsibility for meeting our commitment and taking ownership of our results.* Demonstrate self-discipline to meet company goals and deadlines* Oversee compliance activities in support of a large or complex business group.* Conduct investigations of compliance deviations or failures* Develop standards of performance and related metrics* Ability to stay organized with juggling multiple offices with multiple demandsCompassion - Having the insight and vision to see others and help them along the journey of awareness, courage, confidence and joy. Supporting one another to achieve the mission and seeing opportunity in yourself and others to develop and grow.* Works well with members of Hero's leadership team in pursuit of the company's goals.* Puts team above self, doing whatever it takes to make the broader organization win.* Manage a team responsible for managing audits and other regulatory exams, inquiries or reporting.* Establish education programs and promote continuing training and education.* Foster and support all teammate development and encourage career growth.Minimum Qualifications* 7+ years of experience in a regulatory compliance position in managed care, healthcare or insurance* Working knowledge of compliance/risk management in the healthcare industry* Excellent organization and follow up skills* Must be proficient at using Microsoft Office Suite and Office 365Desired Qualifications* CHC or CHPC certification* Self-motivated, independent, positive and outgoing* Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal skills, as well as excellent writing and speaking abilities.* Working knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations.Travel* Expected Travel is less than 50%Physical RequirementsThis position requires full range of body motion, including the ability to set up for outreach events. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk and stand for long periods of time; talk or hear both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds.Salary and BenefitsFull-time, exempt position.
