Overview This position will work closely with New Product Development teams including engineers and managers in various disciplines essential to successful launch of Radhard Microelectronics to empower the world's leading spacecrafts and to enable applications such as genome sequencers and CT scanners that heath care professionals use. This role will lead a staff of Technicians, Reliability Engineers and Failure Analysis Engineers. Responsibilities Whom We Want:

    • Oversight of compliance aspects for Radhard Microelectronics development per MIL-PRF-38535, MIL-STD-883 and related industry essential specification.
    • Develop and Maintain infrastructure required for Reliability, Device Physics and Failure Analysis
    • Directs efforts to ensure effective and efficient Development quality programs. Assess and clearly communicate risk at each phase of development from product reliability perspective.
    • Define and help drive development of Product Reliability Specification and demonstration, Product Qualification protocol with quality metrics, priorities and communicate to Manufacturing Partners with applicable Quality Control Plan during development phases.
    • Help anticipate issues that haven't occurred yet, using frameworks such as reliability analysis and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA)
    • Lead Development Quality engineers (Reliability and Failure Analysis) to participate in product development, assuring details are planned for to assure product produce-ability, reliability and compliance to customer requirements.
    • Point of contact for all Quality and Reliability elements across full new product Development process including customer corrective action for reliability concerns that arises with released products.
    • Perform reliability analysis. This includes Weibull analysis and non-parametric methods to understand time to failure.
    • Recruit and develop CAES Development quality talent.
    • Direct, plan, delegate and manage department budget and staff including: Write and conduct performance appraisal and disciplinary actions plans, make salary decisions, create training and employee development plans.
    • Participate as Quality representative when developing new external manufacturing partners. Influence Supplier selection for higher reliability and provides clear guidance on reliability requirements and demonstration to suppliers. Support activities for Customer Quality, Industrial Quality and Supplier Quality.
    • Communicate Product Reliability performance. Gather buy-in from engineering peers and leadership on improvement priorities and urgencies.
    • Organize the failure mechanism data and reports collected by failure analysis team and partner with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to implement corrective actions.
    • Chair or co-chair Corrective Action Board (CAB) or equivalent methods assuring measures and metrics support program and mission objectivesSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
      • Approximately 10 direct reports Qualifications Minimum:
        • Bachelor's Degree--
        • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience with established in depth knowledge of semiconductor device physics and/or semiconductor processing
        • 5+ years of progressive experience in Reliability Engineering
        • Minimum 5 years of experience managing staffPreferred:
          • Bachelor's Degree in Technical Discipline: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics
          • Master's Degree in engineering, physics, or related science
          • 6+ years of experience managing staff
          • Experience with Spacecraft and/or space systems Microelectronics
          • In-depth knowledge of AS91XX, ISO 9001-2015 or similar standards
          • Strong analytical and conceptual skills
          • Demonstrated Continuous Improvement expertise
          • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thought to develop, recommend and implement strategies
          • Experience leading cross-functional quality teams using practical approaches with a solid track record of strong technical leadership, de-escalation skills and executive communication
          • The leadership skills required to hire and manage engineers and technicians to carry out work that is outside of your scope of experience.
          • Experience with the following for Reliability - HALT, MTBF, and MTTF
          • ASQ Certification (CQE, CMQ/OE, or CRE).
          • Excellent communication and presentation skills
          • Experience with standards based qualification of microelectronics. Like MIL-PERF-38535, MIL-STD-883, and JEDEC standards
          • Experience instructing Executives, Managers, Associates and CI champions on Lean methodologies and/or Technical projects
