Job DescriptionDate Posted: 2020-11-04-08:00 Country: United States of America Location: HCO01: Interiors (Seats) - CO Springs 1275 N Newport Road, Colorado Springs, CO, 80916 USA This Sr. Configuration Management (CM) Specialist position will require the following skills and knowledge along with interpersonal relations skills that promote the value and contributions of the CM team to both our internal and external customer community. This position will establish and maintain all aspects of configuration management activities relative to planning, identification, change control, status accounting, and auditing for programs, systems and/or equipment in accordance with internal guidelines and contract requirements. This position will require the ability to efficiently work in a high pressure environment where critical priorities are normal and to assist our internal customers to provide a high quality product ensuring the integrity of our engineering documentation to our product. Primary Responsibilities: * Ensures that customer requirements are implemented and met, and reviews change accounting activity to ensure compliance with configuration management policies. * Develops solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation. Ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives. Effects of decisions are long-lasting and heavily influence the future course of the organization. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results would result in the expenditure of large amounts of company resources. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. * Networks with key contacts outside of own area of expertise. Serves as external spokesperson for the organization on major matters pertaining to policies, plans and objectives. * Prepare and/or provide inputs to existing methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel. Work is performed without appreciable supervision. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment. * Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards. Considered an expert in field of organization. Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. * Chair and/or co-chair design reviews, audits and scheduling with programs. * Prepare audit plan, checklist, audit report and perform FCA/PCA activities per assignments. * Experience with Bid Process and provide support to Programs/Project kick off and review meeting. * Evaluates requirements and coordinates the development and implementation of configuration management, data management and electronic data support. * Responsible for generating program specific configuration management plans that tailor existing procedures for implementation of contractual requirements. * Manages the engineering document change process by facilitating approval documentation and participation in or chairing Change Control Board. * Communicates solutions for complex engineering documentation issues. * Track and monitor Change Order (CO) activity through release/implementation (Enovia PDM). * Advanced knowledge of engineering drawings, BOMs and documents and Manufacturing Build Instructions. * Understand and the ability to review and determine if COs being proposed to engineering documentation support industry CM and company practices for Class I/Major and Class II/Minor. * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to negotiate resolution of issues and work in a high pressure environment. * Ensures that commitments and priorities are achieved and maintain required metrics. * Advanced knowledge of CM fundamentals such as configuration records, status accounting, as-built records, and change control. * Must exhibit ethical standards in all aspects of operations including integrity of engineering documentation and in the performance of CM policies, procedures and methods.
