Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career
opportunity for a Principal Engineer DevOps - DevSecOps Engineer
(25-040) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This
position will be in Colorado Springs, CO. , or Huntsville, AL.
Position Overview: The Command and Control, Battle Management, and
Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense
System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S.
president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at
strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan
ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop
collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked
sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission
objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability
that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all
phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and
regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and
weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is
integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and
exercise all current and future missile defense system
capabilities. The selected candidate will support the C2BMC
DevSecOps team in developing and deploying infrastructure as a
service and a platform as a service capability. Essential
Functions:
- Assist in managing multiple environments, software deployment,
troubleshooting, and automation in a DevSecOps environment for a
critical customer program
- Work with the leading DevOps practices and tools such as:
- Hashicorp Tools
- GitLab CI/CD
- Ansible Tower
- Nexus Pro
- Work on systems administration-related issues with hardware and
software for different network environments
- Support deployment of custom software solutions integrating
COTS, GOTS, and developed software
- Propose system administration process improvement to reduce
overall maintenance requirements by working with the design team
and manufacturers
- Determines system requirements, input/output processes, and
working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and
maintenance of system configuration
- Identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support
deficiencies
- Develops and recommends corrective actions
- May provide technical guidance for database administrators and
software developersBasic Qualifications: Please note your updated
security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume,
if applicable.
- Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Science, Technology,
Engineering, or Mathematics discipline preferred from an accredited
university and -5 years of related experience or a Master's degree
in a related discipline and 3 years of experience, or 9 years of
related experience instead of a degree
- Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued
Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is
required to start
- DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+,
GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA) is required to start
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business
needs
- Experience with Linux or Windows System Administration
- Scripting skills in languages such as:
- Bash or PowerShell
- Experience with automation
- Knowledge of DevSecOps principles
- Experience with Ansible Automation Platform, including Ansible
Tower
- Experience with HashiCorp Packer and Vault
- Experience with Gitlab CI/CD and Nexus
- Experience in virtualization technology, including, but not
limited to:
- VMware
- Understanding of HP server configuration
- Must be an effective communicator with excellent writing and
presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing
tools
- Must be responsible for working independently on large projects
at other times, will be in a collaborative team environment with
other DevSecOps engineers and other program development and
deployment teamsPreferred Qualifications:
- Candidates with an understanding of the software development
life cycle and experience with Agile methodology is highly

C2BMC Additional Northrop Grumman Information: Salary Range:
$100,300 - $150,500The above salary range represents a general
guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors
when determining base salary offers such as the scope and
responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience,
education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the
position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift
differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as
well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in
Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term
Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of
benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability
insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off
(PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period
