Job Description:


  • 5-10 years of Network Engineering with commensurate IAT2 or Higher DOD 8570 Certification (e.g. Security+, CySA+, GICSP, CISSP, CCNP Security)
  • 4+ years of experience administering and engineering Juniper/JUNOS devices; (Juniper Junos Associate or Professional Certifications to include JNCIA (Associate) and/or JNCIP-ENT(Professional-Enterprise Routing) or JNCIP-DC (Professional-Data Center) or JNCIE-(Expert) preferred; or CCNP/Cisco with Juniper experience is acceptable w/ extensive Junos and Catalyst OS Experience, (Juniper experience is desired) and similar Cisco device administrator experience
  • Active DoD 8570 Level II Certification (e.g. Security+, CySA+, GICSP, CISSP, CCNP Security)


    • 3-5 Years experience at NORAD & USNORTHCOM or Combatant Command (COCOM)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • 3+ years of network design experience with load balancing and high availability systems
    • Experience with web application architectures and their required ports and protocols
    • Ability to track, recommend, and implement resolutions to issues
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop, train, inspire, and motivate a team to accomplish objectives
    • Ability to build good relationships with peers, business partners, and clients
    • Experience required with planning, design and implementation of networked systems, to include configuration management, upgrades and troubleshooting of network issues
    • Cloud technologies, AWS GovCloud, PostgreSQL Databases
    • Experience with Network Analysis applications such as Sniffer, Wireshark, or Microsoft Network Monitor
    • Experience with network security hardware such as Cisco ASA, Barracuda NextGen Firewall, SonicWall TZ, Splunk, SolarWinds Log & Event Manager, Bro Network Security Monitor
    • Experience with performing engineering services to support accreditation for software running on Cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Commercial Cloud Services (C2S)
    • Must be able to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team. Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a diverse, fast-paced environment
    • Experience installing, configuring and testing various network devices

      SRC is searching for a well-rounded Network Engineer with experience configuring, maintaining, and implementing technologies on Juniper/JUNOS suite of Networking devices to support sustainment and modernization North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) systems. These systems consist of an on-premises Nutanix Hyper-Converged Private Cloud utilizing VMware ESXi Hypervisor and associated products, with future migration to Nutanix's native Hypervisor.
      The Private Cloud hosts NORAD and USNORTHCOM Mission Applications and Web Services including the Situational Awareness Geospatial Enterprise (SAGE) and Air Event Information Sharing Service (A/EISS) applications, as well as the Global Command and Control System-Joint (GCCS-J) Program of Record (PoR) Systems and Information Technology (IT) infrastructure including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers. Sustainment of NORAD and USNORTHCOM (N-NC) systems will be conducted at the government's facilities in Colorado Springs, CO.


      • Maintains and modernizes Juniper Networking Devices and associated networks
      • Engineers and Integrates emerging technologies with legacy systems to deliver enhanced capabilities to the customer, and assists in Testing those capabilities within VLAN separated environments
      • Delivers integrated technology solutions to O & M Contractor team for full lifecycle management to meet N-NC requirements
      • Professionally engages individually and as part of the Netops Team with planning, configuration, and implementation of technical requirements on the latest Juniper EX and QFX series devices
      • Proficient understanding of Routing Protocols e.g. BGP and OSPF, and Switching protocols e.g. LACP, Spanning Tree, VLAN and included technologies e.g. VXLAN, Multicast and EVPN
      • Originates, updates, and deploys documentation for procedures and equipment as needed for the mission area
      • Translates USNORTHCOM/J3 & J6 user capability requests into requirements and obtains Government approval for change management through Configuration Control Board (CCB)
      • Provides technical leadership to project activities to ensure solutions are being implemented per approved design
      • Establishes strong relationships with key leaders from other teams and demonstrates credibility, empathy and expertise on business and technical issues
      • Translates business goals into appropriate strategies and technical requirements
