Position Overview: Candidates will work with a team of engineers to define and develop new products and control architectures. The job requires solid analog and digital power systems design with commensurate laboratory skills. Additional job responsibilities include writing circuit documentation and application notes. Clear and concise communications skills are also essential. This is an excellent opportunity to work with some of the best circuit designers in the industry armed with the tools, knowledge, and technologies of the leader in power management.



More specifically, the candidate needs to contribute in the following areas:



* Product Definition

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce detailed product definitions

* Propose power supply topology and feature set to meet customer requirements

* Generate new product documentation material describing the product requirements which meet the customer needs





* New Product Development

* Verify the architecture and power solution through behavioral simulations

* Develop/define dedicated Software or Firmware to interface with our ICs

* Design evaluation boards for internal silicon verification and customer evaluation

* Perform product benchmarking and competitive analysis

* Perform experimental verification to identify problems and limitations





* Development of Reference Designs and Collaterals

* Develop reference designs for system verification and customer applications

* Develop design collaterals to assist customers with designs, such as datasheets, evaluation kit manuals, application notes, layout guidelines and simulation models

* Verification and test of evaluation kits, and generate evaluation reports





* Product Promotion & Customer Support

* Support Strategic Business Development and Participate in Product Promotion

* Work directly with customers to implement our products into their system

* Answer technical questions about our products

* Support and train FAEs and remote Application Teams

* Support Troubleshooting of difficult or unusual technical problems







Education



MSEE (or equivalent) + 5 years of experience, PhD + 3 years of experience



Required Qualifications



* Strong knowledge of electrical/computer/software engineering fundamentals

* Strong analytical skills

* Knowledge of analog mixed-signal circuit design

* Power Electronics Knowledge - Operation and Control of DC-DC converters

* Knowledge of power electronics (i.e., DC-DC switch-mode power supplies)

* Control theory and converter design

* Understanding of circuit simulation tools and techniques

* Hands-on experience with lab equipment (i.e., oscilloscope, electronic-load, DAQ)



Preferred Qualifications



* Clear and concise communication skills

* Digital and software design skills

* Understanding of circuit simulation and/or software development tools and techniques

* Experience debugging circuits

* Customer interaction experience

* Product definition

* Project support





* Software development tools and techniques for lab automation (i.e., Python, Labview)

* Knowledge of analog mixed-signal circuit design (transistor level)

* Hands-on experience with lab equipment (i.e., oscilloscope, electronic-load, DAQ)

* Experience debugging circuits

* Ability to self-manage and meet deadlines

* Can work both independently and with a cross-functional team
