#COSpace Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking Mechanical
Design Engineering Lead to join our diverse and talented
engineering organization in support of our National Defense as part
of the Deep Space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC) Program. Join an
exciting and new program as we embark to solve complex and novel
engineering challenges. As the DARC Hardware Deployment Engineering
Lead on the DARC program, you will be responsible for the planning,
execution, and management of the DARC HW component deployment to
the selected customer's site. The successful candidates should have
strong fielding and deployment experience and be able to work
collaboratively with an experienced engineering and program
management team to meet our customer's needs.Basic
Qualifications:
- Bachelors of Science + 9 years experience, Masters + 7 years,
or 4 years experience and PhD
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- Ability to travel OCONUS
- Create and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and
as-built documentation
- Check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness,
conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy
of calculations and dimensioning
- Identify design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and
recommend revisions and/or improvements in design layout to
responsible engineers or designers.
- Understanding of mechanical design principles, analysis, and
GD&T.
- Ability to perform project engineering type function to small
group of engineers (task management, customer interactions, working
with program management to address schedules and work scope)
- Ability to present and articulate complex designs to both
internal and external customers
- Strong skills in effectively learning and applying new concepts
and tools
- Demonstrated ability to get work done in an environment of
established systems and procedures
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skill
- Detail oriented but able to understand the big picturePreferred
Qualifications:
- Bachelors of Science in STEM Field, Masters or PhD in same
- Experience working to conclusion design drawings and
specifications
- Experience/knowledge working design verification and
verification reporting
- Experience designing and modeling mechanical hardware
interfaces (such as mounting bracketry)
- Experience with integrated electrical systems setup, testing
and issue resolution
- Experience integrating instrumentation (mechanical and
electrical) including electrical checkout of sensors and data
acquisition hardware
- Demonstrated experience in participating in engineering
teams
- Knowledge of test design and execution
- Work experience in a government contracting environment
- Experience authoring in AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Experience in USAF/DoD radar systems
- Experience with USAF Technical Orders
- Ability to perform tasks in both an isolated and team
environments
- Experience with cable management and cable assembly
requirements for RF and fiber optic applications
- Experience with AGILE, SCRUM, DevOps, etcSalary: $103,900 -
$155,900Salary Range: $103,900 USD - $155,900 USD Employees may be
eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual
bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as
allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice
President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term
Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of
