Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies. Knowledge, Skills and Ability Applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings. Discretion/Latitude Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a talented Sr. Principal Quality Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO and located on Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB). to support the Specialized Warfighter Development Contract (SWDC) and Continual Improvement activities. The Sr. Principal Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring quality requirements are met in a fast-paced repair and production manufacturing environment. Daily activities will focus on:

• Appropriate resolution of defects identified during inspection.
• Prevention of defects by identifying and implementing quality improvement activities.
• Compliance activities supporting internal and external Quality Management System audits, including PFMEA, RCCA, and metrics.
• Collaborating with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
• Devising and implementing methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
• Designing and analyzing inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; conduct quality assurance tests; and perform statistical analysis, when required. The successful candidate must also:
  • Communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
  • Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
  • Guide the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role.
  • Represent the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations. Basic Qualifications
    • Minimum Education or Experience - 9+ Years with Bachelors in Science; 7+ Years with Masters; 4+ Years with PhD.
    • Active Secret clearance, US citizenship.
    • Experience in Agile DevSecOps and/or SAFe Methodologies.
    • Familiarity with proposals/estimates and Basis of Estimate (BOE) development, Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Material Review Board processes.
    • Preferred Qualifications
      • Experience with ISO9001 or AS9100 Quality Management System
      • Data Analytics and Statistical Analysis methods and techniques; ability to perform quality-related data analysis; use of Tableau.
      • Cost Account Manager (CAM) Training with Baseline and EAC development experience. Salary Range: $103,900.00 - $155,900.00 Salary Range: $103,900 USD - $155,900 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
