COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY-PUEBLO invites applications for the position of: Assistant Professor of Nursing - Beginning Academic Year 2018/19 SALARY: Depends on Qualifications OPENING DATE: 03/08/18 CLOSING DATE: Continuous POSITION SUMMARY: The School of Nursing facilitates the learning process of students in achieving the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). The school currently manages recruitment, admission and retention of 180 undergraduate and 80 graduate students. National Accreditation is maintained to insure delivery of quality nursing education. The Tenure Track Nursing Faculty position includes teaching, scholarship and service. Teaching assignments are matched with the education, skills, and experience of the faculty and may include classroom, lab, clinical and chair of student DNP project. A full time workload includes teaching 12 course credits per semester, scholarly activities includes publishing, research, presentations, clinical scholarship and various professional projects and service includes campus and departmental committees as well as community involvement. POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: All responsibilities of faculty members at CSU-Pueblo are in accordance with the Faculty Handbook. The Faculty Handbook is the authoritative guide on specific requirements with regard to teaching assignments, scholarly activity, research, and service. Primary Duties Teaching assignment (12 course credits per semester) includes: Teach, evaluate and revise course as needed, provide on-campus and Blackboard learning experiences/ classes/ labs/ clinicals, evaluate student learning, post grades, submit final course grades per university policy. Teach graduate and possibly undergraduate courses in accordance with the needs of the department Service Advise assigned group of students Attend departmental meetings as applicable Serve on university committee/taskforce Other Scholarly Activity Research Publications Presentations/Conferences Ancillary Duties Attend various events such as graduation, pinning/hooding ceremony, convocation, Sigma Theta Tau Induction and Awards. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications Doctorate in Nursing RN in Colorado or ability to obtain one National Board Certified as a nurse practitioner in Family, Adult/Gerontology Acute Care or Psychiatric Mental Health and on the Colorado registry. Three years minimum professional clinical nursing experience as a nurse practitioner Preferred Qualifications DNP Teaching experience at graduate level (Hybrid, Online, Face to Face, etc.) Nurse Educator coursework Experience with Accreditation Computer skills (Word, Excel, Blackboard, etc.) IMPORTANT INFORMATION: ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY CSU-Pueblo is a regional, comprehensive university.
