This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.Position Overview: The selected Software Engineer / Principal Software Engineer will be responsible for high-level software concept, design, development, test, installation, integration, operation, and maintenance on a small development and analysis team. Will ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Essential Functions:

  • Analyze and implement requirements to enhance and modify Engagement Coordination System (ECS) to support system updates and modifications.
  • Provide software engineering support for complex software systems.
  • Introduce and implement development and life-cycle support tools and processes.
  • Document bugs and enhancements using organizations bug-tracking tools.
  • Implement system requirements using C++.
  • Operate ECS to support the integration and message exchange between various software elements/applications of a given software system.
  • Function as a flight-test operator as required.
  • Analyze and prepare reports on system performance.
  • Coordinate with the test team to perform integration and resolve defects with improvement recommendations.
  • Drive the engineering process development, continuous improvement, and affordability initiatives within the program.
  • Will be extremely flexible and able to transition from software development/debugging to systems engineering to analysis work on a regular basis .The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.Basic Qualifications (BQ's):This requisition may be filled at either a Software Engineer or a Principal Software Engineer level.BQs for a Software Engineer:
    • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience, or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years experience.
    • Experience with object oriented design patterns and modern data structures.
    • Experience working with legacy software and modernization efforts.
    • Experience working in a Linux development environment.
    • Applied C/C++ development experience.
    • Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs.
    • A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance is required to start; with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance.BQs for a Principal Software Engineer:
      • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years experience, or a PhD and 0 years of experience.
      • Experience with object oriented design patterns and modern data structures.
      • Experience working with legacy software and modernization efforts.
      • Experience working in a Linux development environment.
      • Applied C/C++ development experience.
      • Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs.
      • A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance is required to start; with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance. Preferred Qualifications:
        • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Math or related discipline
        • Experience with DevSecOps and Agile Development
        • Experience with Qt for GUI development
        • Experience using MatLab for automated data analysis
        • Experience with XML concepts and data exchange
        • A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) clearance. Salary Range: $74,900 USD - $112,300 USD Salary Range 2: $92,200 USD - $138,400 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
