PURPOSE OF POSITION: A Child Care Attendant at Catholic Charities:
Develops positive relationships with parents and families of each
child Plans and implements activities that stimulate learning in
all developmental areas (physical, emotional, social, and
cognitive) Assists in the coordination of activities with other
staff Ensures that the classroom is safe, clean and orderly Assists
in the organization and maintenance of classroom materials and
equipment Participates in the preparation, setup, serving and
clean-up of meals and snacks Provides crisis intervention
including, but not limited to, child abuse reporting Ensures safe
environment by following safety rules Supports, promotes and
adheres to Catholic Charities’ vision, mission, values and Code of
Ethics Reflects Catholic Charities’ commitment to treating all
persons with dignity and respect Uses creativity and innovation in
program development and service delivery Maintains confidentiality
of client and agency information Regular and predictable attendance
Requirements QUALIFICATIONS At least 6 months' experience working
with children under 12 years of age in a group setting Conflict
resolution skills a plus, but not required Ability to interact well
with children from birth to 12 years old Effective interpersonal
communication skills with children, parents and co-workers Ability
to remember schedules, programs, policies, and other details
Ability to remain calm, and calm others, in an emergency and/or
confrontational situation Knowledge of the service population’s
cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and the appropriate
techniques and practices for the client population Ability to
interact effectively as a team member and independently with
Shelter staff and with a diverse client base EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE High School graduate or equivalent GED Courses in Early
Childhood education preferred but not required Experience leading
fun play, physical and reality-based activities COMPENSATION &
BENEFITS: Salary: $20.00 per hour. $1.00 bilingual differential.

Full Time Extensive Paid Time Off (4 weeks accrual for new

holiday is worked, holiday pay is in included.) Sabbatical Leave
Program: Employees who have completed seven years of continuous
full-time service are eligible for a paid sabbatical leave to
support rest, renewal, and professional or personal growth.
Eligible staff may take 4 weeks of sabbatical leave. 403b
Retirement Plan with Agency contribution of 4% & match up to 2% of
annual compensation. Choice of 3 PPO Medical Plans (90% of
employee's and 75% of dependent’s premiums is paid by Agency),
Dental, & Vision starting the 1st day of the month following start
date. May be eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness through
Federal Student Loans and many more benefits. Part-time employees
(20-29 hours per week) also receive paid annual leave, company paid
holidays, and 403b retirement plan with agency contribution and
