the MAC or Recreation Center Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Provides supervision, oversight, leadership, and logistical support
to operational personnel to include Parks Maintenance Technicians,
Seasonal Parks Maintenance Technicians, and volunteers. Oversees
employee training, assignment, review and planning of others' work,
and makes recommendations regarding employee hiring, disciplinary
actions, and salary increases as appropriate. Collaborates with the
Manager of Parks Operations to maintain and implement performance
standards and ensure customer service-oriented delivery. Plans and
schedules all maintenance work within assigned region. Coordinates
with Manager of Parks Operations, other Regional Supervisors, and
representatives from other Town departments when working on shared
or consecutive projects. Supervise and engage in maintenance
activities such as mowing, fertilization, irrigation, aeration,
overseeding, weed control, trash and restroom cleaning, synthetic
turf upkeep, and lighting maintenance. Coordinate construction
projects and ongoing maintenance activities for parks, trails, and
building grounds. Oversees the mobilization and demobilization of
supplies, equipment, and crews. Oversees job site set up and work
completion in accordance with safety, quality, and performance
standards and procedures. Ensures quality of work performed by
maintenance crew. Prepare daily activity and vehicle inspection
reports. Perform snow removal at buildings, parks, and bike paths;
supervise weekend crews for snow removal and athletic field
preparation. Operate various equipment, vehicles, and trailers as
needed. Recommend improvements to working conditions and equipment
usage to enhance safety and efficiency. Perform minor mechanical,
plumbing, and construction repairs on vehicles, equipment, and
buildings. May serve as acting Manager of Parks Operations as
assigned. May be subject to work nights, weekends, and holidays on
occasion. Performs duties of Maintenance Technicians as necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned or required. *This position is
part of the Town's snow removal program. Will have scheduled
on-call responsibilities through the winter months to remove snow
using a 4-wheel drive pickup and/or heavy equipment. Snow removal
shifts are typically 12 hours.* Minimum Qualifications: An
equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that
demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be
considered. Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Experience: At least three (3) years' previous experience and/or
training that includes open space management and/or parks
maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education, training,
and experience. At least one (1) year of supervisory experience is
preferred. Licenses and/or Certifications Required: A valid
Colorado Driver's License A valid Colorado Class B CDL is required
or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire National
Playground Certification is preferred. Backflow Certification is
preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to perform
strenuous physical work on average 8-10 hours daily, extending to
12 hours during snow removal or construction activities. Ability to
physically access all work sites to perform duties, potentially in
any weather and environmental conditions. Ability to operate all
equipment and tools including heavy equipment to perform all
maintenance tasks including snow removal. Ability to train others
on equipment operation. Extensive knowledge of the materials,
methods, and equipment utilized in parks maintenance and
operations. Knowledge of chemical properties and safe handling.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Skill in effectively leading
others. Skill in effectively assessing crew work quality. Ability
to convey information in written, verbal, and electronic form.
Ability to follow and provide written and oral directions. Ability
to establish and maintain effective working relationships with
other agencies, employees and the public. Physical Demands:
Moderate to heavy physical work to including a bility to lift
100lbs or less, carry 100 lbs or less, push and/or pull 50 lbs or
less Frequent performance of activities requiring a full range of
body movement including climbing, balancing, stooping,
kneeling/bending, crouching, crawling, and/or twisting Frequent
hand/eye coordination to operate tools and electrical equipment as
well as for driving equipment and vehicles Vision for reading,
recording and interpreting information Speech communication and
hearing to maintain communication with employees and citizens Work
Environment: Works both indoors and outdoors with exposure to all
weather conditions Regular exposure to dust, noise, and chemicals
Equipment Used: This position may require the incumbent to
occasionally use personal equipment (e.g. vehicle, cell phone,
tools, etc.) in the course of their employment Must satisfactorily
complete a driving record check and criminal background check prior
