Job Ad Template OU.LOCATION Summary: The Production Planner (PP) is a detail oriented,self-motivated, result driven individual who strives to grow anddevelop within the Production Control and Planning organization. ThePP is responsible for developing strong relationships with variousdepartments to include Business Areas, Finance, Integrated BusinessPlanning, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Manufacturing,Procurement, Export Compliance, and Sales. This individualmust be focused on customer needs and be willing to go above andbeyond to ensure on time delivery. The PP possesses strongverbal and written communication skills. Within a fast pacedenvironment, the PP should be able to multi-task, be flexible tochanging priorities while maintaining a positive attitude. Thisindividual will be familiar with Cobham's products and flows, be ateam player, and engage in forward looking behaviors. Thisindividual must possess a can do attitude to include motivation,innovation, and problem solving, as well as a desire to improvecurrent practices and procedures. The PP should understand themission, vision, and goals of the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, issue and control production schedules Point of Contact within the Production Control and Planningdepartment for shop schedules, floor execution, and customerimpacts. Advises management as required on the status of work inprogress, material availability, and potential productionproblems or concerns. Assign work order starts as required for new assembly lotstarts, die preps, reworks, engineering requests andqualification lots (e.g. Group C, D, and E for new wafermaterial) as required. Release work order load into the production line in a balancedmanner to meet production schedules Coordinate activity with quality assurance, manufacturing,engineering, and finance as needed to meet the goals andobjectives of the department. Ensure WIP management and on time delivery throughcommunication with expeditors. Respond to requests for material availability, expedites andpush outs, as well as other requests to meet customer needs. Transact ERP system to include: scheduling, work order andsales order date management, ship list accuracy, and systemsetup as needed. Communicate with Production Expeditors to ensure on timedelivery of outside service processing and advise use ofexpedite fees to meet schedules. Communicate with Export Compliance and Sales on export delaysand material available to ship. Monitor potential material shortages, and advise on lead timeaccuracy, and safety stock levels. Lead and engage others in performance board stand up and dailystatus meetings. Perform other tasks as needed to support product specificrequirements. Back-up others within the Production Control and Planningorganization as needed. Other Duties and Responsibilities: Ability to coordinate efforts with Production Control, MasterScheduler and Manufacturing Technicians. Works well under limited supervision. Ability to handle problems of varying complexity. Maintains shortage report. Generate and review Order Point Report to sustain IndirectMaterials. Education & Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in related field plus 3-5 years' experiencein a manufacturing environment, or equivalent is required. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Visual Enterprise Computer Skills: Must have strong Microsoft office skills including Outlook,Excel, Word, and Access. Must be able to operate in aWindows environment. Use of Visual Enterprise.
