Position Title: GL Staff Accountant Position Reports to : Corporate Controller Supervises : N/A Experience : Bachelor---s or associate---s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field. Preference will be given to candidates with Construction and/or experience in the Homebuilding industry. Location: Colorado Springs, CO Career Level : Entry-Level to Mid-Level Status : Full-time Salary : Hourly/non-exempt $23 - $27/hr. (DOE) Benefits: Medical/Dental/Vision insurance Life/Accidental death insurance Paid time off, holidays Bonus/Profit sharing 401K Investment plan w/6% company match Home purchase discounts Primary Operational Objectives : We are seeking a detail-oriented GL Staff Accountant to perform accounting tasks in collaboration with internal departments. As a member of the accounting team, this individual will also assist in daily, monthly, and annual activities, audits and resolving discrepancies, reporting and ad hoc duties assigned by the Controller. Responsibilities: This position will support the accounting team with the day-to-day transactions, operations, compliance, reporting and risk management of the department. --- Collaborating with internal departments to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant financial data --- Entering financial data such as accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, and interdepartmental entries into the ledger on a monthly basis --- Processing bi-weekly checks for construction draws --- Making and recording weekly payments via check, ACH, web, autopay, and credit card --- Request utility starts for new construction sites --- Support A/P Specialist, when needed --- Performing account analysis to ensure that journal entries and balances are correct --- Gathering supporting documentation and performing recordkeeping --- Assist with preparation for annual audits --- Ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures --- Maintain accurate records, including ledgers, journals, receipts, and invoices. --- Perform administrative and other tasks as needed. Qualifications: --- Bachelor---s or associate---s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field --- At least 2 years--- experience in general ledger accounting, or similar --- Advanced competency in accounting and business management software --- In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and industry regulations --- Strong analytical, time management and organizational skills --- Proficient in Excel --- Self-motived and self-directed --- Must be a team player --- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in entering financial data --- Ability to maintain confidentiality --- Deadline-driven with excellent time management ability --- Familiarity with Mark Systems, a home builder software, a plus --- Familiarity with SAP Concur Expense & Invoice Management platform, a plus --- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization Work Environment: A fun work hard plays hard office environment An Equal Opportunity Employer/Smoke free campus
