Job Description:
Position: Principal Software Engineer (Colorado Springs, CO) Duties: Design highly scalable architectures to handle very
large quantities of time series data in real time. Develop and
deliver technical vision for storage, visualization, analysis, and troubleshooting products. Maintain and communicate overall
technical vision and plans, ensuring that daily work is connected to
vision. Mentor junior software engineers in connection with the
applications best practices and the development of design patterns. Identify
and manage product and technology risks, create architectural
standards, and envision and drive technical recommendations and changes to
company products based on customer requirements. Requirements: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in
Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a
related field and four (4) years of experience designing and implementing
real-time flow data for network devices; or in the alternative, Bachelor’s
degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical
Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field and six (6) years of
experience as indicated above. Also requires demonstrated expertise (DE): measuring frequency
and network analytics of TCP/IP, SNMP, NetFlow, MPLS, NAT, and
firewalls; DE leveraging Java to program software applications with over
100,000 flows per second low latency; DE designing, developing, and delivering
to production highly-scalable, secure, reliable, and
fault-tolerant distributed systems based on Linux operating systems; and DE
configuring and transferring data on SQL, Cassandra, Mongo DB, Hadoop, and
